Blog #3

This is my final blog for the course. I have enjoyed learning about all of these great, creative tools that I will use in my classroom one day. I really enjoyed the last project, the WebQuest, because I learned that that tool will keep the students motivated and intrigued to go to the next step. I like that it gives them pathways to an answer, but the student is, in the end, responsible for finding their own answer and do their own research to create a great project.

This course really has been an eye opener for me. I never realized how many great tools there were online to integrate into the classroom. I hope to use them frequently with my students in order to create a fun and creative learning atmosphere.

Blog #2

So this is my second go around at writing a blog, and I don't feel as awkward about it this time around. I think that I could actually start writing out thoughts and ideas, even lesson plans, on a blog that could help in a classroom. Also, watching all the updates on Twitter and following the different educational tweets has been quite educational and helpful.

As for the class, I have learned a lot about all the available tools that will be valuable in the classroom that I had never known existed. For example, making module 9 "creative" was fun. Using the tools we had learned previously, I was able to incorporate multiple web tools into one creative report.

All in all, I think that I have learned a lot in this class and look forward to completing the last few assignments.

Til next time,

Aaron

First Blog

So here I go. Starting out with my first blog EVER!

I was one of those persons that never thought that I would ever start a blog, let alone twitter. I'm not too big into social networking sites like this (minus facebook of course). But, since this is a requirement of a class where I am learning to put more emerging technologies into the classroom, I figured that I would make the most of this experience and see where I can go with it. So far in EDFN 505, I have discovered tools that I had never known existed in the past. There is such a wide array of technology out there for teachers to use that I had just never heard of or even thought of using.

I understand that online social networking is the way that many people keep up to date information about friends, family, and even school. These websites, like blogging, twitter, and facebook make it easier for students to stay in contact with one another and make it easier for the teacher to keep up to date information available at all times for their students. So, this should be a fun experiment for me to see where I go with my blogging and twitter and see how much I actually learn from doing these things for the first time. Until next time, Aaron
